Iranian film ‘Survival’ to compete at Italian filmfest

Iranian short film ‘Survival’ by Masoud Hatami is to vie at the 8th Skepto Int’l Film Festival in Italy.

Iranian short film ‘Survival’ directed by Masoud Hatami has been scheduled to vie at the 8th edition of the Skepto International Film Festival in Italy.

The Iranian short film will go on the Italian screen in Hostel Marina and Auditorium Comunale in the Italian city of Cagliari on Friday, May 12.

The 8-minute short film is set in the middle of nowhere, where two people are living in a lake and they are using corpses to survive.

Based on a script written by Masoud Hatami himself, the short is a production of the Tehran branch of Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS) and has three actors.

Sirous Qolipour, Parham Deldadeh, and Masoud Hatami are the cast of the work and it is cinematographed by Mohammad Haddadi.

Hatami’s 2015 production is slated to be screened along with ‘No Offense’ from Belgium, ‘Decorosa’ from Spain, ‘Winfried’ and ‘The Eggman’ from Germany, ‘Splintertime’ from France, the Netherlands and Belgium, ‘Ratzinger Vuole Tornare’ from Italy, ‘Decorado’ from Spain and France, and ‘Good Night’ from Austria.

“Skepto is a non-profit cultural association, that came to be with the joint efforts of several cinema, photography and visual art lovers,” the festival’s official website wrote.

Skepto International Film Festival focuses on short films and has a competitive nature.

Its main aim is to encourage and give exposure to independent filmmakers from all over the world by creating an open space for dialogue and intercultural exchange.

The festival is slated for May 10-13, 2017 in the Italian city of Cagliari.
